Gratuitous Poetry!

Walking around Berlin on Thursday night, the beginnings of this ebbed into my head. Then, on Friday night, having cheesecake with my roommate, I was overcome with the urge to jot down a first draft. A couple days later, it was still playing around in my mind. So I put on some melancholy music and let myself see where the feeling would take me. This was the result.

I haven’t really written poetry in years. I used to love expressing myself through that art, but I put it aside a long time ago, first because my life became too busy and uninspiring for me to welcome the muses, and then because I felt like I had no more to say.

My (very) old poetry blog on WordPress still exists though, and you are welcome to check it out. I don’t promise any masterpieces, but it’s a glimpse at where I’ve been.

Meanwhile, a few more randoms:
